Description 3 portraits of Catherine Sager Pringle.
Orphaned on the Oregon Trail in 1844, the Sager children were adopted by Marcus and Narcissa Whitman, who were killed in the Whitman Massacre of 1847. In 1860 Catherine Sager wrote an unpublished account of these experiences. She married Clark S. Pringle, son of Vergil K. and Pherne Brown Pringle, and lived in Spokane, Wa.
