Clarke (newspaperman, orchardist, poet, author, one of organizers of Oregon & California Railroad Co.) and Harriet Buckingham Clarke, born 1859 in Salem, Or., married in 1883 in Walla Walla, Washington Territory, to William J. Dyer, who died by accident in 1891. She died in Salem in 1941. Obituary at Salem Pioneer Cemetery website.
