| Three members of the Boise family, Salem, Oregon. In the first photo, the young man on the left is Breyman Boise (Reuben Breyman Boise), the baby is Reuben Eugene Boise, Breyman's son, and the man on the right is probably Reuben P. Boise, Jr., Breyman's father. The Boise family is one of the most prominent in Salem's history. Descended from Justice Reuben P. Boise, who came to Oregon in 1850 and was Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court three times. *Note: Due to the confusing number of Reubens in the Boise family, it is difficult to be certain who is who. I have been unable to verify that the gentleman on the right is Reuben P. Boise, Jr., so would welcome clarification or correction. 2nd photo, Oversize 56-64: Breyman Boise with spaniel dog in same room where the family portrait was taken. 3rd portrait, Oversize 56-65: Baby Reuben Eugene Boise on couch with German Shephard |
